Elementary School Lunch: 10/16 - German Potatoes

Food, JapanKristina PinoComment

Weird thing of the day? Eating lunch with 9-10-year olds who spent the entire 20 minutes talking about calories and weight gain and food allergies.

Today's lunch was some fried chicken, salad (of the sea!), kuro-pan (dark bread - it just means it was made with brown sugar), and German potatoes. The salad had a few kinds of seaweed mixed in with cabbage, spinach, and some sweet Japanese dressing with sesame seeds, which all went well with the chicken. The potatoes were kind of new for me. Apparently it generally means potatoes mixed up with bacon, which they were, but there were carrots and onions in there, too, along with some parsley.

Overall tasty, as usual. So filling, too! Bonus shot of the salad on Instagram.

Calorie count: 614 (for all their talk, today's lunch was pretty light!)
