Sukiyaki on a Friday is a pretty solid way to end the school week; especially when it's been a busy one. That bowl has some great things going for it: beef, grilled tofu, fried tofu, Napa cabbage, quail eggs, shirataki noodles, onion, enoki mushroom, shiitake mushroom, carrot, and bits of beef. It was accompanied by a 5-ingredient salad comprising bean sprouts, spinach, strips of ham, cucumber, and sesame seeds. I was so, so full. Full and happy.
I don't have as much to say about lunch as usual this time around, but this is definitely one of those perfect lunches where the flavors come together well and despite fillers like fried tofu is overall loaded with nutrition. Great dish any time, for me, but especially in the winter.
