Elementary School Lunch: 11/19 - 11/20 - The One Gyoza

Whoops, I forgot to post the lunch yesterday. I did get the picture, though, so no worries.

We had some mackerel with salad, miso soup, and rice. The salad itself mainly featured yakon, a sort of sweet root vegetable, along with carrots, pork, and green pepper. It was pretty awesome - the salad was labeled "sweet and spicy" for the yakon and seasoning flavor + pepper mix. As for the miso soup, it had carrot, spinach, radish, spring onion, and three kinds of mushroom. The whole lunch was great.

Today was a noodle day. We enjoyed a veggie-filled soup (plus pork) including: carrot, cabbage, bean sprouts, onion, bamboo, and Chinese chives. The broth tasted like sesame oil, which was nice, too. As for the salad, we enjoyed some radish with cucumber and spinach, seasoned then topped with sesame seeds. Finally we had just one fried gyoza on our salad plate, and of course the noodles were packaged separately. And then, for dessert, we had some pudding.

I always think it's funny when we have just the one gyoza.

Bonus shot of that is up on Instagram, too.

Geeze, those were two particularly heavy days, relatively speaking.
