Today's lunch was pretty random. Sometimes, we just get a bunch of different flavors that are all great, but not necessarily together. Raisin bread, cole slaw salad, fried hoki (a kind of fish), and curry soup comprised our meal. The salad wasn't super colorful: cabbage, cucumber, and corn with the cole slaw dressing. As for the curry soup, it had potato, onion, spinach, carrot, and bits of sausage in it. Simple, but tasty and filling.
I found out around lunch time that today is actually tofu day in Japan. It's one of those unofficial holidays, and was overlooked by my co-workers. Usually, we have a themed lunch on the big days, but yeah. Anyway - it's called tofu day because it's a play on words. One of the ways to say "10" in Japanese is "to" and the beginning of one of the words for "two" is "fu," so there ya go. Tofu day. Puns and wordplay are a big part of Japanese humor, so this kind of thing happens often.
Anyway, I thought it was pretty funny.
