Elementary School Lunch: 09/17 - 09/18 - bonito and spaghetti

Wednesday's lunch was as much in the middle of my hype meter as the day of the week. We had some chunks of katsuo (bonito), which were cooked with sesame seeds, salad, soup, and rice.

The salad and fish are covered here because circumstances were such that lunch was served much earlier than usual, and my co-worker was considerate enough to cover everyone's food. It was spinach, cabbage, and carrots in regular from-scratch seasoning. The soup's highlight was sweet potato, which is always great, and it also had some burdock root in there, with carrots, onion, miso, and radish.

Today's lunch doesn't look like much, but it was very filling, I assure you. Spaghetti, salad, and vanilla ice cream. We usually end up having some bread or some other side dish on spaghetti days, but I'm glad we forewent that this time around. The spaghetti was in tomato sauce, and it had eggplant, mushroom, parsley, onion, and bits of sausage in it. The salad was just cabbage with spinach, corn, and carrots in a non-creamy italian dressing.

I couldn't have asked for a more solid lunch today.
