Today's main dish was kitsune (fox) udon. I'm not sure how it gets its name, but considering it's a good food for a rainy day and today it also happened to be raining in the morning, I found it very comforting. Especially since I skipped on the side dish (potatoes, beans, and tiny fish). Nothing against fish and potatoes littered with fish eyes that popped off while cooking, but I refilled my soup bowl and stuffed my face with noodles instead. Plus, we had awesome dango (with red bean) for dessert, which you can see wrapped in some leaves next to my buddy Len above.
The soup had some good stuff in it: fried tofu, bits of chicken, two types of mushroom, spinach, and green onion in dashi broth. It was a solid lunch for an otherwise uneventful day.
