Elementary School Lunch: 03/11 - memories and tofu

Food, JapanKristina PinoComment

Today Japan shared a nationwide moment of silence at 2:46 PM in honor of the three-year anniversary of the big 3/11 earthquake. It was kind of a somber day in general.

Lunch was pretty rad, though. We had Chinese-style food: a tofu bowl with loads of veggies, rice, and a side salad. Nothing extravagant, but everything was tasty.

The bowl had tofu (duh), bamboo, onion, carrots, some kind of green leafy thing, and bits of meat. The salad had glass noodles, ham, egg, cabbage, bean sprouts, and carrots. We didn't have anything spiced up or any dessert today, which made the tray look a little bland, but I assure you today's lunch was actually rather flavorful.
