Elementary School Lunch: 02/25 - burger time

I had lunch with some of my first graders today, which is always fun since they've always got plenty to say or ask me. What made today's lunch even better was that instead of eating in lunch groups (all the students form little islands out of 4~6 desks around the classroom and eat in groups), they arranged their desks in a big circle so everyone can talk as a group.

Today's main dish was some hamburger steak, which had a sweet topping. It was served with some salad, rice, and miso soup. The salad had italian dressing and consisted of cabbage, carrots, and spinach along with some kind of sea leaf. The miso soup was one of the more plain ones we've had in a while, with just some fried tofu, potato, onion, regular tofu, and carrots mixed in. Overall a solid meal, with nothing overpowering.
