As we crawl through winter here, we're continuing to enjoy dishes that warm us to the bone. Today's main item was oden, which is a winter hot pot that included fish, boiled eggs, tofu, potato, onion, carrots, and we even had some sausage in our bowls. It was accompanied by some crunchy salad in a sweet and sour sort of veggie dressing, deep-fried smelt, and rice.
I skipped on the smelt since I'm trying to avoid too much of the deep-fried stuff, and the soup was filling enough that I only really had room for about half of my rice before I was stuffed. I guess having a second helping of salad also contributed, but yeah - it's filling stuff.
