Elementary School Lunch: 07/04 - freedom squid

Food, JapanKristina PinoComment

It's the fourth of July, which doesn't mean much to Japanese people, but hey, the lunch was good.

The main dish today was fried squid with some salad on the side, a soup, and bread with squeeze-pack chocolate.

The squid was tasty as usual, and the salad was dressed in Italian (the non-creamy variety), and had some pasta shells, fish chunks, and the usual greens. The soup was fantastic - it was tomato-based, and heavily featured zucchini for the first time this year. Besides that, we had some green peppers and onions mixed in. The bread was wheat germ, and we had a packet of iron-fortified chocolate to squeeze onto it. All in all, absolutely delicious.
