Today's lunch featured some deep fried shrimp, which I actually passed on to someone else because I'm both avoiding eating too many fried things and not too keen on shrimp altogether. Besides that, there was some salad in plain Japanese dressing, and another kind of udon! The reason my food is "wrapped" in the image above, is because I need to transport it from the staff room to wherever I'm eating lunch that day, so the food needs to be kept warm and clean.
With the usual bagged ration of noodles, we had a bowl of salty broth that had veggies like carrot, onion, and shiitake, tofu, and pork in it. Since I'm eating lunch with my students these days, I'm also skipping out on my usual tea, because I'm not supposed to be enjoying any drinks besides milk during lunch hour. Since I can't drink the milk, I only get to drink water with my food - which is fine by me. I get to avoid the caffeine in the tea, despite all the other advantages.
