Elementary School Lunch: 04/25 - Squeezing iron

Food, JapanKristina PinoComment

Today's lunch was so delicious that I had to share it on Twitter along with my usual post on here. The main feature was chicken kara-age with salad, a bowl of yogurt and fruits, and some bread.

The chicken was fried much in the same way that wings are made - lightly battered and super tasty. The salad just had some plain Japanese dressing on it. The yogurt was made from scratch at the school, and there were plenty of fruits mixed in - oranges, apples, and more.

The bread was made with rice, and it had a great flavor to it. This was my first time trying the bread side, and the little packet that you see on the tray there is actually a chocolate paste with iron (Fe) added! That was given to us to squeeze onto the bread as we ate it, and it was just so, so good.

I basically cleaned up every bite and left out only the milk this time. The calorie count was 649.
