Today's lunch featured something fishy again! This time, we had sardine, and it was accompanied by rice, salad, and miso soup. The soup, like last time, had plenty of veggies in there. The salad was plain and just had some Japanese dressing in it.
Today's trivia and wisdom from my principal was about the seasoning for the sardine. It's a mixture of sweet and salty condiments (sugar, salt, sesame, etc.) which he explained is a typical Japanese style of preparing food. Unfortunately, I wasn't actually too hungry during lunch today, and left a lot of what's on that tray. After the soup and salad, I was pretty much full before even getting to the rest! I can't say I lament leaving rice, though.
