Friday Things: 09/07

[Another week gone by! I wasn't sure I'd be able to get this week's Friday Things live because I'm still having net issues at home, but thank goodness for breaks at work. This week was fun - and this weekend I am celebrating way too many birthdays. What's up with people being born around September?]

iOS gaming related:

I've never played any Professor Layton games, but it looks like he's headed for iOS and Android. I'm kind of excited about this, since that's more accessible to me than other consoles at the moment. I mean, yeah, I've got my DS Lite, but I take my iPad everywhere I go.

TouchArcade reported on a puzzle game called Wimp and you can color me interested. The game looks like it's pretty cute, so I'll be keeping an eye out for the official release.

I'm also pretty interested in Final Fantasy Dimensions. I didn't think I'd end up playing it based on cost, but then again, it's a price that anyone else would have paid if the game were on portable console. So why not? I still love the Final Fantasy games series, and I have no problem with supporting a game that seems to be a non-re-release with all the nostalgia and good feelings associated with the older titles.

I'm alright on beat-'em-ups, but I'm not sure I'm sold yet on Avengers Initiative. What do you think?

The iGame Music Bundle is out! It's only going to be available for a short time, though - until the end of next week, so you need to act fast. As always, these are totally worth it. It includes soundtracks from games like Horn, Puzzle Juice, Globulous and more. Lots more if you put in US$10 or more.

On Harry Potter:

Someone wrote out alternate Tom Marvolo Riddle jumbles to see what Lord Voldemort could have possibly made his name. I must say I'm happy with the current arrangement.

Yes, I will eat one of these Harry Potter cupcakes. Gladly. (via Geeks Are Sexy)

On other geek things:

It was only a matter of time before someone made an awesome geek skirt with a panorama from the Mars Rover Curiosity. This is pretty rad. You can buy it for US$45.99.

This is an amazing keyboard, a thing of beauty, and I must have it. It's Logitech, and you can wash it. Seriously, hold it under the tap in your sink and wash it.

[Thanks for reading! This was an awesome "short week" given that I had Monday off. It's kind of nice - like, oh! It's Friday already! Yeah.. love that feeling.]
